Meet Becky and Vince

From a young age, Becky has deeply loved animals, enjoying learning about and caring for them. She takes pride in the high standard of care and services provided, which has led to forming close bonds with many clients who consider her an integral part of their family. Becky looks forward to meeting your lovely pet soon.

Becky holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree from Auckland University, majoring in Physiology and Microbiology with a minor in Immunology. She is AMTRA qualified (Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority, UK). She has worked as a facility assistant with Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine (US).

With extensive experience as a nurse in general practice, emergency clinics, and assisting in surgical procedures, Becky has a rich background in veterinary care. She started as a vet assistant at Green Bay Vets when she was young, working after school and during holidays. She has worked as a locum vet nurse for Green Bay Vet Clinic, SPCA, and Western Springs After Hours Vet Clinic and with Epsom Central Vet Clinic and St. Lukes Vet Clinic. Becky also did part-time vet nursing in Palmerston North during her university years.

In addition to her veterinary background, Becky has experience as a NZ border control dog trainer and handler with MAF. She has worked as a veterinarian pharmaceutical representative for Arnolds Animal Health (UK), Medichem International (UK), Ethical Agents (NZ), and Petware (NZ).

Becky started Becky's Dog Walking in 2014. Outside of her professional life, she is an avid rock climber and mountain biker and holds a black belt in Chidokan Karate.

Vince has a diverse background in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, ERP, and commercial legal, with experience managing multiple international business units for large corporations in the human and animal health sectors. He has set up distribution systems worldwide, including those with high compliance requirements, such as controlled drugs, food and vaccines.

Before becoming a director and dog handler with Becky's Dog Walking, Vince was a business mentor and coach, consulting businesses throughout the COVID pandemic and supporting NZTE responses to struggling businesses. In a classic "left corporate life for a lifestyle job" scenario, Vince traded his hundreds of staff to work with hundreds of dogs.

Vince has had dogs all his life, including rescues, and has worked with Becky's Dog Walking for most of the last six years, becoming a director just over two years ago. An avid sportsman, Vince has played rugby and rugby league and represented New Zealand in mountain biking and road cycling.

Meet Charlotte

Charlotte is friendly, upbeat, and known for her honest and open-minded attitude. She takes pride in her skills with both people and canines. With nearly four years of experience working with dogs, Charlotte began her journey as a kennel assistant and has grown into an experienced dog handler.

Before her career in the dog world, Charlotte spent almost a year working with the Auckland Regional Public Health Service during the Covid period. She loves football and has even taken on the role of a junior football coach. Additionally, Charlotte enjoys four-wheel driving.

Charlotte adores her two dogs, Zeus, the Golden Retriever and Rio the Rottweiler. Having two very different breeds with unique characteristics allows her to expand her skills at home continually.

Meet Mikayla

Mikayla is an active and enthusiastic individual who enjoys being on her feet, playing sports, and working with her hands. She has played premier-level softball and has a passion for motor racing.

Mikayla has been a dedicated dog walker for the past year and a half, continually enhancing her essential dog-handling skills.

Her previous experience in before- and after-school care has equipped her to care for children of all ages and maintain composure under pressure. Playing softball nationally in New Zealand fills her with pride and has instilled a strong work ethic.

Mikayla also loves caring for her border collie pup, Nala and has a deep affection for all animals.
